Refurbished Changing, Locker & Shower/Wet Rooms
Cambridge United Football Club
COEL Plumbing and Heating was recently asked to re-design and refurbish the changing & shower areas at Cambridge United Football Club. Apart from slight alterations over the years, the areas had not changed since they were built in the 1950’s, so were somewhat dated and uninviting.
How they looked…
COEL’s brief was to bring the facilities into the 21st Century providing new showers, wc’s, urinals & wash basins and also to design purpose built individual ice baths for the players. The new design needed to incorporate club branding and be easy to clean and maintain, whilst providing a safe, welcoming environment for the home team, away guests and referees.
The area was completely re-designed introducing bespoke plunge pools/ice baths which were constructed of concrete blocks and finished with mosaic tiling. Modern cubicles were installed using solid laminate for durability, alongside new showers and bright, newly decorated changing areas, creating clean lines for easy maintenance.
The project included the following elements:
- Design of new changing/wet rooms.
- Strip-out of existing changing/wet room facilities.
- Bespoke items
“From the very start the interaction from, in particular, your Project Manager Dean Powell was excellent. He was extremely proactive in suggesting & providing design drawings so that our Management could visualise the proposed finish & his professionalism throughout the Project was exemplary. All your workmen & subcontractors were excellent, a particular mention must go to your foreman Gary who throughout could not have been more helpful.”
